Hello and welcome to The Breast Pumping Mom!
My name is Kait and I am a Mother of a beautiful baby girl! I had every intention on breast feeding her for at least 6 months, but she was not having it. After the first week of having her scream her head off at my breast, I decided to pump her some milk and feed it to her via bottle. My traditional breastfeeding journey was over at that point.
Even though she would not latch and had bottle preference, I still really wanted her to get the benefits of breast milk. That is when I started exclusively pumping breast milk. So I spent time searching the internet, talking to lactation consultants, and reading the information given to me from the hospital. The only problem was that all of that research left me feeling overwhelmed, alone, and clueless.
It seemed that the “expert” advice was that exclusive pumping is too cumbersome to keep up with and that it is nearly impossible to maintain an adequate supply of breast milk that way. However, that did not discourage me from giving it a try!
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
While conducting my research, I discovered that there are plenty of women out there in similar situations as myself. I found that there are many reasons a mother may decide to exclusively pump; from problems with latching, nipple confusion, bottle preference, health concerns, being away from the baby, surrogacy, or simply because that is what she thinks is best.
I also discovered that there is not a lot of support or information out there for women who have decided to pump exclusively. That is the main reason I have decided to create this website to offer support and information to women who are pumping breast milk to help make their journey a little easier.
THE GOAL OF MY SITE
The goal of this website is to offer support and information to all women who are pumping their breast milk, no matter if they are doing it exclusively or in between regular breast feedings. I hope to help Mothers make pumping breast milk easier for them in any way possible.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below or send me an email at kait@the pumpingmom.com and I will be more than happy to help you out the best I can.
All the best,
